Austin Community College is a nationally recognized two-year college. ACC serves Central Texas as the primary gateway to higher education and technical training. ACC’s mission is to provide open door access to an affordable college education for those who want to earn a degree, learn a marketable skill, and advance their careers.

The Forefront of Education

ACC is leading the nation in transforming how students learn. The college provides flexible, accelerated learning opportunities and real-world experiences to help students complete their education on-time and graduate workforce-ready.

Transformation

ACC reimagined Highland Mall and transformed the former shopping center into centers of learning.

Innovation

The ACC Bioscience Incubator offers research space for biotech companies and real-world training for students.

Collaboration

ACC works with its ISD partners to provide high school students pathways into higher education.

    Campus Features

    ACC opened on September 17, 1973, with one campus serving 1,726 students. What started as an extraordinary vision among community leaders and education pioneers is today the primary gateway to higher education and career training in the region. Over the past 40 years, ACC has grown to become one of the largest colleges and universities in the nation with 11, soon to be 12 campuses. Today, nearly 76,000 students choose ACC annually.
