The Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) was launched in October 1993, as a University Centre affiliated with the “Universidad Complutense” of Madrid. In 2001, and after some years of growth, it was accredited by the “Comunidad de Madrid”, achieving full status as a private university through Law 7/2001, of July 3rd, which means that the University grants official Degrees.

The “Universidad Francisco de Vitoria” is part of a global network of universities that includes higher education institutions in North America, Europe and South America. We define ourselves as a Catholic-inspired, open and international university.

Catholic-inspired, because, with the utmost respect for the individual freedom of each one of our students and teachers, we impart our education plan with the values of Christian humanism; principally, ethical behaviour in performing the profession, personal integrity and social commitment.

We are also a university that is open to people and knowledge. Open to people: without any limitation concerning the cultural background, social secondment or financial capacity. We present our university as a meeting point, open to knowledge, to new technologies, to science, to research, to flexibility, to culture and to change.

• And we are, increasingly, an international University, that is committed to educating its students for the world in which they live. This concept goes way beyond using English in professional practice, a linguistic level that all our students achieve when they have finished their education.
