University Mission

The mission of AUT is to provide an innovative, TECHNOLOGY-RICH, ENTREPRENEURIAL, EXPERIENTIAL university learning environment that produces CIVICALLY ACTIVE and MARKET-READY graduates.

University History

American University of Technology (AUT) was founded by Mrs. Ghada Hinain in 1998 in Fidar - Halat, Lebanon as a not for profit, private institution of higher education and obtained its presidential decree 2143 in January 2000. AUT has now three additional campuses in Tripoli, Tyre, and Akkar. The Tripoli off-campus program started operations in 2002. AUT offers 27 majors at an undergraduate level (Bachelor) and six graduate programs (masters) under three faculties: Business Administration, Applied Sciences, and Arts, and Humanities. With over 3000 alumni and about 1500 current students and 90 full-time and part-time instructors and 65 staff employees, AUT has been successful in giving each of its students' personal attention, quality education, and international exposure that enhance considerably the career prospects of its graduates.


AUT obtained full university status on January 18, 2008, by decree 8465 with both bachelor and master degree programs accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in Lebanon. AUT is now a member of AACSB International (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) international accreditation bodies.

Culture and Heritage

AUT Cares for CULTURE AND HERITAGE The main objective of this AUT project for the National Heritage Day 2015 is an awareness campaign for the importance of HERITAGE AS CULTURAL CAPITAL using different innovative technologies to provide visitors with more creative and accurate information about cultural heritage sites.

The mission of the Graduate program consists of bridging the gap between academia and the marketplace through the integration of market challenges into its program; the responsiveness of its curricula to the emerging needs of the local and regional markets, providing the market with total solutions via applications-oriented education, executive training, consulting and research. Several graduate programs have been developed to cover a wide area of concentration and needs.

The MBA program is an innovative, market-driven program, designed to develop leaders who will create value for themselves and their organizations in a time of relentless change. It is a lock-step, 39 credit hours that is fully accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education.
