Mediterranean College

Introduction

Mediterranean College was the 1st independent University-College to be founded in Greece (1977) and to initiate “franchise” academic agreements with UK Universities (1992). It is licensed by the Greek Ministry of Education and conforms to multiple quality benchmarks: accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC) as an institution providing higher education; reviewed by the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), an organisation that monitors the quality standards of UK Universities.

This day the College sustains strategic, franchise academic collaborations with renowned UK Universities, such as Derby University (TOP-30, Guardian University Guide, 2020) and the University of Wolverhampton. Students study in Greece the exact same courses of the partner Universities and upon successful completion are awarded the collaborating Universities’ degrees. These are internationally recognized and the Greek State regards them as professionally equivalent to degrees awarded by State Universities.

Mediterranean College runs contemporary facilities in Athens (city centre and Glyfada-south) and Thessaloniki, offering 40 undergraduate & postgraduate courses across 8 Academic Schools: Business, Shipping, Tourism & Hospitality, Computing, Engineering, Education, Psychology, Health & Sports Sciences. Most programmes are taught in English or bilingually (Greek and English). Undergraduate courses typically include on-campus delivery, while postgraduate courses follow a flexible, blended delivery pattern.

All students are supported in their learning journey by highly qualified and committed academic staff, extensive libraries, electronic resources and IT facilities, fully equipped labs and workshops. The College has also developed a holistic Students Employability Scheme in collaboration with a wide network of 500+ industry partners.

As a student-centred college, Mediterranean develops strengths and capabilities in every student by offering support services, such as Personal Tutoring, Counselling, Learning Support and Career Services, Bursaries & Scholarships. The Student Affairs, the Alumni and the International Office secure our students’ welfare and the active Students’ Union promises an exciting student life.
