If you’re thinking about getting that master’s in finance, consider going to France.

According to the Financial Times’s latest ranking, French business schools are coming out on top, especially in finance.

Edhec Business School, HEC Paris, Essec Business School, ESCP Europe, and Skema Business School, dominate the top ten, keeping good company with MIT’s Sloan School of Management, the Universitá Bocconi, IE Business School, Warwick Business School, and the University of St. Gallen

The Financial Times notes that 200 points separate the top program, Edhec Business School, from the school ranked 60th.

Why France?  Why finance?  Finance in France isn’t new—it’s been a specialty for awhile.  An article in LeMonde notes that France owes its success partly to its scientific institutions, like Polytechnique, Centrale Paris, and UPMC, and to the French school of mathematics, on which finance is based.

There’s also France’s continued success with finance—as French schools continue to rank well year after year, they’re more likely to receive funding.

Another great feature?  Most of the finance programs in France are taught in English, which has wide appeal for international audiences.

In LeMonde, Alice Guilhon, Executive Director of Skema said, “Our graduates have exceptional professional trajectories, only three years after graduation.  She added, “And we continue to strengthen ourselves in finance, with the recruitment of global experts or the development of research in Fintech and ETF.”

Among those “experts” she cites are Professor Florencio Lopez Silanes, a recognized international financial market specialist, formerly of Edhec.
