The EMBA program stresses an integrated blend of theory and practice and provides a general management emphasis suited to the needs of executives in leadership positions. The program provides opportunities for integrating professional experiences of students with a state-of-the-art academic management education. It helps experienced professionals to clearly formulate their management philosophy and capabilities and thus, fosters their professional growth.

We view the role of business as an economic, political, and social institution and provide a holistic educational experience. Course modules are designed based on this philosophy and are sequenced to assure continuity in learning. The integrated curriculum provides opportunities for gaining cross-functional skills and knowledge. The UNLV EMBA program is a synthesis of academic learning and real-world experience. It will bring executives together to learn the most recent development in business disciplines and advance their problem solving-skills, enabling them to become better leaders. Faculty will promote innovative thinking in these elite, non-traditional classrooms by:

- Teaching executive leadership through the integration of
knowledge, skills and experience;
- Increasing your abilities in problem identification, analysis
and discovering alternative solutions; and
- Integrating application of theoretical and practical solutions
to actual problems.


A Convenient EMBA Weekend Format

The EMBA program schedule is structured to be conducive to the working professional's life. Each entering class forms a cohort and completes the program as a group in eighteen months. This will provide a unique experience that will enhance teamwork throughout the programs.

The curriculum is offered in an integrative course modules format. Modules are from one to three credit hours, and each credit hour is approximately fifteen hours of classroom interaction. Modules are offered two at a time.

The participants will meet for one intensive week of coursework at the beginning of the program, followed with class meetings every other Friday and Saturday. Tentatively, the module start at 8:30 AM and continues until 5:30 PM. The same schedule is repeated for Saturday. During the two-week class intervals, instructors and students will be communicating via the application of technology. The full Friday and Saturday, every other week, allows for ample time to work with faculty and students and provides you the flexibility to meet your other professional and personal commitments.
