Introduction
Designed for MBA students planning on careers in finance, this joint degree program enables you to market yourself more effectively within a very competitive marketplace. You’ll benefit from all the required courses in the MBA and MS in Finance programs and concentrate your electives in the finance area. Also available on a part-time basis.

Quick Facts
The MS in Finance/MBA (MSF/MBA) program is open to students admitted to the Full-time MBA program, the Evening MBA program, or the MS in Finance program. Students may be admitted to the program at the point of initial enrollment or may petition to transfer into the MSF/MBA program at a later date.
To earn the degree, you must complete 72 semester hours of credit and achieve a 3.0 or better grade point average. You may receive a waiver and/or transfer credit which will reduce the total number of credits required.
Curriculum
The MSF/MBA program includes all of the required courses in the full-time MBA program or the Evening MBA program, four of the six required courses in the MSF program (the other two are counted in the MBA program), and electives.
Full-time curriculum:
Students in the full-time MS in Finance/MBA program will undertake all the pre-work and required courses in the full-time MBA program (36 credits), along with the courses required of the MS in Finance program as outlined below.
- Investment Analysis
- International Financial Management
- Financial Strategy
- Finance Seminar
Electives for the full-time MSF/MBA:
- 24 elective semester credits are required
- Minimum of 12-semester credits must be Finance electives
- Either "Competition in Global Markets" (1 credit) or an International Study Abroad (credits vary) is required
- The Business Plan Integrative Exercise from the full-time MBA is required
Students may participate in two-week international summer programs in Asia, Eastern Europe, and France.
