Introduction
The Techno-MBA program is designed for individuals seeking an MBA with a strong concentration in Computer Information Systems. The program is applicable to those with CIS or Business undergraduate degrees, or to any other undergraduate degree. Those students with degrees in disciplines outside of CIS will be required to complete additional course work as determined by an advisor.
Non-Business Majors will be required to complete:
21 hours of MBA prerequisites (21 of the 24 hours of Foundation Courses, CIS 500 is not required)
Non-CIS and Non-Business Majors will be required to complete*:
Up to 12 hours of CIS Prerequisites:
A Computer Literacy Course (e.g. CIS 101)<br /> CIS 202 Program Design and Development<br /> CIS 223 or 224 Introduction to COBOL or Windows Programming with<br />
Development Tools<br /> CIS 321 Introduction to Systems Analysis and Design<br />
6 hours of 500 level CIS courses from:
CIS 526 Database Management Systems Concepts and Design<br /> CIS 528 Database Management Systems and Implementation<br /> CIS 550 Advanced Object-Oriented Systems<br /> CIS 521 Information Systems Development<br />
All Techno-MBA Students will be required to complete:
21 hours of MBA Core Requirements (including CIS 661)
3 hours CIS 690 Seminar in Computer Information Systems
3 hours from:
CIS 694 Internship<br /> CIS 696 Independent Study in Computer Information Systems<br /> CIS 699 Thesis<br />
Total Hours 39-66

- These suggestions are minimums so a student may take upper level CIS courses. Students looking for programmer/analysis positions are encouraged to take at least a two course sequence in a language.
