The Emerging Leader MBA program is designed for those transitioning directly from a four-year undergraduate degree, early career professionals, and those with little business background. It can be completed in just one year, depending upon prior completion of foundational undergraduate business classes, or students may take up to three years to complete if attending part-time.

In the Emerging Leader MBA program, our students learn what it takes to lead in a rapidly changing workplace, acquiring skills to adapt and to inspire others for success--economically, environmentally and socially.
Guest business leaders will offer expertise and assistance to hone your strategic sense, presentation skills and judgement. A focus on in-demand analytics skills will teach you critical business decision-making, informed by cross-functional quantitative and behavioral tools.
Throughout the curriculum, you will receive personal attention from faculty and staff. Business coaching and mentoring is provided from our Executives in Residence, and extensive experiential learning takes place in and out of the classroom with JCU alumni and business leaders.

The Emerging Leader MBA encourages a problem-based or case-method, allowing students to walk around the business problems presented and to consider the “case” from varied perspectives. You will:
- gain skills in critical thinking and communication;

Students must complete two elective courses; one global elective is recommended. Students may create a concentration by choosing both electives in the same area, i.e., Management, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Finance.
Program Outcome
The Emerging Leader MBA program is designed to develop the skill sets necessary for graduates to be successful in a variety of management situations. Specifically, the program is designed so that students will demonstrate:
- Managerial level knowledge of the functional areas of business;
- The application of analytical and quantitative techniques to solving business problems;
- Effective influential communication skills for oral presentations and written communication;
- Effective leadership of self and others in problem solving situations;
- The evaluation of the ethical dimensions of business problems and the application of an ethical framework while solving business problems;
- The application of multiple aspects of social responsibility in solving business problems.
