Blended Online MBA Dalhousie University

Designed for busy mid-career professionals, Dalhousie’s Blended Online MBA allows students to advance their careers on their own terms through its program delivery. With 90% of the program delivered online asynchronously, learn from wherever you are without having to make drastic changes in your personal or professional life. Complete the rest of the program in two-to-five-day intensive sessions at the end of each academic semester in select cities across Canada, where you will foster rich connections with your classmates, professors, and instructors.

The Blended Online MBA curriculum was developed and is delivered by world-class academics and financial services and leadership experts working in close collaboration with employers and industry associations, giving students the opportunity to specialize in either Financial Services or Leadership.

Learn from Wherever You Are:

A mix of online learning and in person instruction, the online learning component is delivered asynchronously and enhanced by educational resources including readings, videos, discussion posts, blogs, and audio files. Realtime elements include Live Classroom, tutorials, Collaborate Ultra, Adobe Connect and Skype Sessions, ensuring rich and personal connections with your professors and class participants.

Face-to-Face Intensives:

At the end of each term, course participants meet for a two-to-five-day intensive session delivered in select cities across Canada. Each program’s capstone course is held during a five-day summer session on Dalhousie’s historic campus in Halifax, NS. Attendance at the in-person sessions is a mandatory and is an important component of the program— travel may be required.

Given the part time nature of this program and the required attendance at the in-person sessions, it is important to note that this program does not meet the requirements for a student visa.

Specializations

The Blended Online MBA offers students choice to either specialize their studies in Financial Services or Leadership.

Through the Financial Services specialization, students will develop practical and relevant skills and knowledge for the financial services workplace. You will advance your critical analysis and decision-making skills and deepen your understanding and ability to have positive impact in managerial and client services roles.

The Leadership Specialization is designed to enable mid-career professionals to enhance their leadership management capabilities and to becomes exceptional leaders in a broad range of organizations.

This program will enable you to respond strategically to management challenges and work towards your career goals, without leaving the workforce. Upon completion of the MBA leadership stream, students will have a comprehensive knowledge of fundamental and contemporary leadership theories, enhanced by the ability to creatively integrate leadership around current issues of managing people, leading change, and developing personal and professional competencies in a variety of challenging contexts.

Advanced Placement:

You may be eligible for advanced placement in the MBA Financial Services Specialization if you have achieved specific designations, certificates, or programs with one of our industry partners.

Graduates of specific provincial (NS & ON) or territorial (NU) leadership Development programs may also be eligible for advanced placement towards the MBA Leadership degree.

Candidates with an outstanding record at the graduate or senior undergraduate levels in the subject areas covered by our curriculum may also apply for advanced placement.
