    Undergraduate

    Minimum Admission Standards

    To ensure each incoming student is prepared to succeed at APU, it is recommended that all applicants to the university meet the following minimums. Meeting the minimums set forth does not guarantee admission, but does guarantee that an applicant will be given full consideration.

    Cumulative High School GPA:

    • 3.0+ (to be considered for regular admission)
    • 2.5-2.99 (to be considered for conditional admission)

    First-Year International Students

    Admission Requirements

    • Completed application for admission, Statement of Agreement with Institutional Policy, and Personal Statement.
    • Official high school transcripts
    • Foreign Transcript Evaluation
    • Proof of English proficiency
    • A bank statement or other official forms of documentation of financial support must accompany the financial statement and Undergraduate Affidavit of Financial Support (PDF) form.
    • Copy of passport
    • Nursing applicants: Additional materials are required for nursing applicants.

    Graduate International Students

    Admission Requirements

    • Foreign Transcript Translation and Evaluation
    • Minimum GPA: A minimum 3.0 grade-point average (GPA) on a 4.0 U.S. scale is required for all international applicants.
    • Additional Test Requirements: Other test score reports (GMAT, GRE, or CBEST) may be required for certain programs.

    Haggard International Scholarship Program

    The Haggard International Scholarship (HIS) Program exists to embrace APU’s legacy of equipping and sending out Christian workers globally by providing scholarships and Christ-centered leadership training to international students who strive to become leaders in their home countries and throughout the world. The scholarship program combines a tuition scholarship with a leadership development program. Eligibility for the scholarship is dependent on the following: student need, leadership ability potential, Christian commitment, global mindset, and academic abilities.

    Qualifications and Selection Criteria

    • For international undergraduate students in F-1 or J-1 student status
    • Regular admission to APU along with proof of funds for costs not covered by HIS
    • Scholarship is meant for international impact. Therefore, the student cannot take steps to stay in North America after their education and training (If a Canadian citizen, they cannot stay in the U.S.).
    • Complete and Submit all parts of the HIS Scholar Application (Contract, Essays, and Reference)
    • Student must be a born-again Christian
    • 3. A 2 GPA or above is required to be accepted into the program and a 3.0 GPA is to remain a HIS Scholar
    • HIS scholarship is available for a maximum of 8 semesters and cannot be used for non-APU study abroad semesters
    • Student must be committed to all HIS program components to retain scholarship

    Campus Life seeks to fulfill the above mission through the following:

    • Alpha Program: Supporting students’ sense of belonging in their first year at APU through the Alpha Program orientation groups for first-year and transfer students.
    • Campus Events: Campus-wide engagement opportunities to foster a sense of community.
    • Campus Recreation: Coordinating physical and electronic sports throughout the academic year.
    • Clubs and Organizations: Supporting student-managed groups, including performing arts clubs, social clubs, service organizations, academic clubs, honors societies, and club sports. Azusa Pacific University does not allow or recognize national social clubs, fraternities, or sororities.

    Welcome Weekend

    Campus Life hosts Welcome Weekend at the beginning of each fall and spring semester to welcome new APU students, families, and their guests into the APU community. Welcome Weekend aims to provide an experience that fosters a sense of belonging for new students, families, and guests through intentional programming centered on preparing each student for their time at Azusa Pacific University.

    Residence Life’s mission is to create spaces and learning opportunities for residential students to experience life together. Our team strives to ensure that students are provided with engaging campus housing options, ongoing logistical assistance, and challenges and support throughout their residential experience at APU.
