With Israel to the south and Syria to the east, Lebanon enjoys a prime location on the Mediterranean Sea. Lebanon is known for its excellent science and math education, and business follows close behind these leading industries. Students who choose to study in Lebanon enjoy the fact that it is the 10th best country in the world for the quality of its education, and among the top 20 for the quality of the management of its education. While the country takes a hands-off approach to its economy, it stays quite involved in the education of its people.
Business studies in Lebanon begin with first stage studies, which lead to a bachelor's degree after three to five years of study, followed by second stage studies, which lead to the master's degree or an equivalent degree after one to two more years of study, depending on the university. Most business students pursue at least the second stage of study.
Because of this emphasis on education, Lebanon boasts 41 universities with national accreditation. Students who study in Lebanon will begin their university school year in October. The spring semester begins in February, and students may choose to study in a summer session as well. Students should plan on speaking Arabic or French when studying in Lebanon, although some schools are beginning to offer courses in English.
While the cost of tuition will vary depending on the school, some universities require students to pay for only the first 15 credits per semester, and they can take additional credits without any costs. Students can plan to spend between $20,000 and $30,000 USD for a master's degree in business in Lebanon. Foreign students will need to plan to pay for housing, registration, application fees and student activity fees when studying in Lebanon, in addition to tuition.
Students who graduate from a Lebanese university with a master's in business studies will have a quality education from schools recognized throughout the Middle East an the western world. These degrees will position students for a successful career in business and administrative leadership.
