Located along the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Guinea in West Africa, Ghana is a geographically diverse country home to nearly 30 million people of various religious and ethnic groups. Where To Earn a Business Degree in Ghana

Students can earn a business degree at the University of Ghana, the University of Cape Coast, the University of Education and several accredited private colleges and universities. Oxford University (UK), Cornell and Harvard University, in addition to other prestigious colleges from all over the world, offer special study abroad programs for students wishing to earn a business degree in Ghana.

Why Study in Ghana?

Ghana is one of Africa's most politically stable, peaceful countries that offers a fairly high quality of education supported by government expenditures and private donors. To attract international students, universities in Ghana operate on the traditional semester system and commits at least 10 percent of its international students to the University of Ghana. In addition, the official language of Ghana is English, with a few tribal dialects still existing in rural Ghana. However, all business courses are taught in English.

What is an Academic Year in Ghana?

The higher education, academic year lasts from August to May. Students may find internships over the summer that contribute to earning their business degree.

How Long Does It Take to Earn a Business Degree?

A bachelor's degree in business takes four year to complete, with an additional one or two years needed to earn a Master's degree. Doctorates (Ph.Ds) in business require another two or three years of study. Various specialized business degrees are available that include a concentration on accounting, finance, marketing, human resource and management information systems.

Tuition Costs

Applications fees are about $25 (22 EUR) for international students and 50 Ghana Cedis for Ghanaian residents.

Full-time undergraduate students pay a flat tuition fee of between $8000-$10,000 for each semester (7500 EUR). Grants and scholarships are available from most universities. Textbooks are free and given as needed.

Tuition for a master's degree in business (12 courses) is typically around $20,000 (17,900 EUR).
