About Bahrain
Located near the Persian Gulf, the small island country of Bahrain offers a diverse lifestyle. This Arabic speaking country has a strong Islam presence and a developing economy and culture. With a population of about 1.2 million people, it is a smaller country, but with plenty to offer those who wish to visit, live, or obtain their education. Known for its high income families and combination of a modern infrastructure and religious culture, this country offers a strong art and literature base for student. For students considering Bahrain business studies, many of the universities here allow for international students to attend.
Business Studies in Bahrain
Even though the country is smaller, there are various colleges and universities here. There are four main public universities including Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain Polytechnic, College of Health Sciences, and the University of Bahrain. Numerous private schools are available in the country as well. Most educational programs here are taught in the native language, though many people do speak English.
Business studies programs range widely. A four year degree in business studies is generally the first step and earns the student the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree. An additional one year program is available for Master's degree education. Schools also are available for those who want more advanced degrees leading to another two to three years of education. Generally, most students enter the workforce with a Bachelor's degree or will earn their Master's.
Business courses in Bahrain include aviation, entrepreneurship (a key component of the growing economy in the country) hospitality, leadership, international business, technology management, project management, and tourism. The focus is often on developing students who can help the country to further develop its economy, tourism industry, as well as manufacturing programs. However, Bahrain also has a strong financial industry so business management, business finance, and similar degree programs are present.
Why Go to Bahrain and What Happens After Graduation?
Bahrain's educational system is considered high quality. These programs are accepted internationally. Students will find that international students are welcomed here, especially those with a solid educational background. The school year, which begins in September, is generally based in semesters though some schools may offer other options.
Once the student graduates from university, he or she can return home or enter the workforce, with the appropriate visa. Education here generally opens the door for advanced career options especially when the student earns a Master's degree. However, Bahrain's economy is still growing and in many ways welcomes those who can enhance and improve it. It is also possible to find work throughout the region.
