Washburn University

The Washburn University MBA program is designed with working professionals in mind. Small evening classes are taught by highly qualified, experienced faculty who provide valuable skills to compete in a real world business environment. Washburn business students have access to the latest business database and software resources. Additional opportunities include managing an actual equities portfolio, completing internships and a unique international course that combines a hands-on business education with a multi-cultural study abroad experience.

Washburn University School of Business is consistently ranked by Princeton Review as a "Best Business School." The school holds accreditation from AACSB-International, an elite business school accreditation, with only the top 5% of business schools in the world having earned this mark of quality. For the last five years graduating seniors scored at or above the 80th percentile on the ETS Major Field Test (MFT) in business, a national comparative assessment.

Program Structure

Our MBA program has three parts: an orientation, the curriculum, and a closure experience.

Orientation
Before the start of the fall semester, all students admitted for the previous spring or summer and current fall semesters are required to attend the MBA Program Orientation.

Curriculum
The curriculum will enhance your skill in the areas of communication, quantitative analysis, computer technology and teamwork along with accounting, economics, finance, information systems, management, marketing, legal and ethical issues and production and operations in the context of domestic and global environments of business.

MBA Program Closure Experience
As your Washburn MBA program winds down you will be asked to analyze the contents of your academic portfolio and write a reflective essay.

All degrees are welcome

Whether your undergraduate degree is in the arts, business, economics, nursing, science, or social work, the Washburn MBA program will work for you. Most students have work experience and are working full-time while earning their degree, but neither is required for admission. Your peers typically range in age from their 20s to their 50s, with an average age of about 30. International students constitute about 20 percent of the MBA student body.
