Located in downtown Richmond, Virginia, a city consistently ranked one of the best places for business and careers, the Virginia Commonwealth University MBA program offers a winning combination of business theory, practical application, and a valuable network of career contacts.

While studying the interrelated functional areas of businesses and exploring case studies, you will develop skills in solving business problems, making decisions, communicating effectively, and working in teams.This integration of theory and practice is essential to defining your unique leadership style and will help you build your professional network.

  • Health CareManagement *The Health Care Management Concentration is a summer program administered through the Executive MBA Office. Traditional VCU MBA students are eligible.*

Students may enroll full or part-time.Classes are typically offered one evening per week (Monday through Thursday) from 7 to 9:40 pm. A limited number of classes are offered two evenings per week from 5:30 - 6:45 pm.

The degree must be completed within six years of the time of admission to the program; however, the typical student completes the degree in one and a half to three years.

Student Profile - Admitted applicants have an average of 4 years professional work experience in a variety of areas such as engineering, science and humanities, and business. Admitted applicants have an average GPA of 3.3 and average GMAT score of 565.


The VCU MBA curriculum contains 19 courses, or 57 credit hours, and is divided into three categories: foundation courses, advanced program courses, and electives.
