MBA Global

Given the power of an MBA and the doors it opens, the network it offers and the problem-solving skills it teaches, business students need to be more engaged in their education and to make a conscious effort to understand what they want to get out of their MBA degree.

A Global Master in Business Administration (MBA) instructs students in business courses with an international focus. Global MBA programs require two years of full-time study, and may provide students with the increased skills and experience they need to succeed in the international business world.

Officially known as the Italian Republic, the country is found in southern Europe. The official language is Italian and the cultural rich capital is Rome. Many of the world's oldest universities are located in Italy, in particular the University of Bologna (founded in 1088). There are three Superior Graduate Schools with "university status", three institutes with the status of Doctoral Colleges, which function at graduate and post-graduate level.

Best MBA Programs in Global in Italy 2017. Firms live and thrive because they interact with other firms and with costumers. What is done outside the firm is becoming increasingly important. Moreover, to be successful, it is not enough to merely focus on domestic markets. Globalization means new challenges, new competitors but also new opportunities and new markets. The ability to manage “long” supply chains, that go from Europe to Asia to Africa and America, to handle local and international suppliers and clients, is a key factor to having a successful business. This is the goal of the Internationalization Processes track. Bologna University, the oldest University in the western world, was founded by uniting students and professors from all over the world. Emilia Romagna companies have deep local roots but they know they have to look abroad in order to grow. We have several sectors that export much more than what they sell domestically. Mechanics, Automotive, Ceramics Tiles and Packaging are only some examples. We have Internationalized enterprises and market leaders that are often small or medium sized. This allows our School to have firms, entrepreneurs, managers and professors that share their expertise and experiences with our students. Our students are an asset. Coming from more than 30 countries they will share their unique working experiences and cultures. The MBA in International Processes is a 12 month full-time program, taught entirely in English. It is dedicated to students whom already have a solid working background. A 500 hour internship will help students to improve their problem solving skills, giving them the opportunity to face actual situations that normally arise within the business world. During the first term, class activities will focus on general management, while starting from the second term, participants will study subjects specific to this sector. The correct balance between the number of students for each professor represents a very positive aspect that facilitates the learning process. We will focus on interaction between European and emerging markets with a focus on Asian markets. We will analyze investment opportunities, retail and supply chain strategies. Structure The Master’s degree is a 12-month full-time program including 518 hours of class activities, 1300 hours of individual and group work and a 500 hour internship. The academic part is divided into three terms. During the first term you will study the fundamentals of general management, while the second and third term will deal with the specific subjects of each track (please, find further information about the courses in the section ‘Courses’ below). I Term: September 2016 – December 2016 “Ice-breaking” Week General Management Courses: Corporate Finance, Corporate Strategy, Financial and Managerial Accounting, International Finance, Marketing Management, Cross-Cultural Management, Organizational Analysis: Leading People and Organizations, Team Working. II Term – III Term: January 2017 – May 2017 Track Specific Courses: Production and Logistics, International Business Law, Entrepreneurial Finance, Geo-Economics & Markets, Global Supply Chain Management, Global Retail Management, International Management, Business Planning, Management Consulting. The three terms are followed by an internship period of 500 working hours. This internship can be carried out at various companies and agencies in Italy or abroad. It is your chance to put into practice the theory and techniques learned during the three academic terms by working on management strategies, analyze business cases, create solutions to real problems and work on action plans. You are expected to make the most of these opportunities by learning from the professionals you will be working with. At the end of the internship you will be required to hand in a ‘Final Report’, which you will present to the Director of Studies showcasing your activities and analyzing the theories and lessons learned during the academic part. Students who are interested can also choose to take an extracurricular course of Italian. Learning Method The main aim of our teaching staff is to first lay down a solid foundation of theory before starting to build on that by introducing more practical aspects. This will result in you confidently entering the working environments of this industry, ready to deal with the scenarios you will face. The teaching staff will help you grasp these concepts and techniques through the use of lectures and seminars; group projects and company visits; guest speakers and case studies; videos and presentations; individual assignments and assisted private studying. The courses are set up to give the maximum freedom to learn to the students and allow the professors to teach and assess the students in the best way possible. Assessments can take the form of individual/group presentations, projects, oral and written exams as well as, of course, class participation.
