Program Description

ZSEMâs MBA in Corporate Finance is intended for everyone that wishes to start a career in the private sector in the area of corporate finance. The curriculum of this program offers a broad and interdisciplinary education, but also centers on specific and special knowledge in the area of business administration, with a focus on quantitative courses in economics. This program is also well suited for financial analysts, accounting experts, a well as managers that wish to expand their skills to include knowledge in the areas of finance and accounting.

This program contains an optimal combination of courses in both finance and accounting. In the financial courses, students will learn about the financial management of organizations, financial institutions and markets, financial derivates, and how to analyze financial reports. At the conclusion of the financial part of the program, students will have an opportunity to manage investments in a practical example.

The accounting part of this program will cover analysis of international and Croatian standards of financial reporting, financial accounting instruments, the application of accounting information systems, auditing of financial reports, and techniques of accounting management that are used internally by company management. Besides courses that fall into the categories of finance and accounting, students will also take a course in Business Ethics and CSR, which is ever more relevant for those that wish to occupy senior positions within modern organizations. Many courses take place in one of ZSEMâs computer labs, and will introduce students to software for creating and analyzing databases in the areas of finance and accounting.

The professors in this program include seasoned professionals and prolific researchers in the area of finance and accounting. This program lasts for two semesters and culminates with the creation of a Graduate Thesis.

Duration of the program: 2 semesters, 60 ECTS credits.

Course structure

Classes are held in cycles and lectures are held in the afternoon, after 5 pm.

Requirements: completed four-year professional or undergraduate university program, acquired 240 ECTS credits.

Students who have completed a four-year ânon-economicsâ program can also apply under the condition to take the pre-semester with following courses: Basics of Economics, Basics of Marketing, Basics of Business Finance, Basics of Management, Basics of Accounting.

For non-Croatian citizens

  • Diploma (translated and certified in English or Croatian)
  • Grade transcript (translated and certified in English or Croatian)
  • Passport copy
  • Two recommendations (academic or professional); If candidates GPA is lower than 3,5, third recommendation will be needed
  • Motivational letter
  • CV
  • Two photographs, 4x6cm
  • Document proving that you have source of supporting the study at ZSEM (most often âbank statementâ)
  • Proof of application fee payment (150 EUR)
  • Certificate of birth (translated and certified in English or Croatian)

For Croatian citizens

  • Diploma (original in English/Croatian, or translated and certified copy in English/Croatian)
  • Grade transcript (original in English/Croatian, or translated and certified copy in English/Croatian)
  • Proof of citizenship (original Domovnica)
  • Certificate of birth (original Rodni list)
  • Two recommendations (academic or professional);

If candidates GPA is lower than 3,5, third recommendation will be needed

  • Motivational letter
  • CV
  • Two photographs, 4x6cm
  • Proof of application fee payment (150 Kn)

Tuition Fee Discounts

Students may obtain a reduction in tuition fee in the following cases:

  • Payment in one installment to the ZSEMâs gyro account or payment by a student loan: 5%: 5%
  • GPA in the completed undergraduate and graduate program 3,5 â 3,99: 5%
  • GPA in the completed undergraduate and graduate program 4,00 â 4,49: 10%
  • GPA in the completed undergraduate and graduate program 4,50 â 5: 15%
  • Citizens of Croatia and European Union (without dual citizenship) : 5%
  • Candidates with a minimum of 5 or more years of work experience: 5% (to be proved by an official certificate).
  • ZSEM alumni: 5%

A student may qualify for more than one tuition fee reduction, in which case they stack.
