Business Studies in Chile
Chile's citizens place a high respect on education especially at the university level. In fact, some of the world's best universities are present here. Perhaps the most notable are Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and the University of Chile. Students attending these or any of the other schools will find that the quality of education is good and the program options in business studies are numerous. All courses throughout the country are taught in Spanish, making it a requirement for all students. Keep in mind that many people speak English in Chile, but it is not taught at all college courses.
There are many of things to look forward to when getting a business degree in Chile. A bachelor's degree in Chile is the most common first step. IT takes about four years to complete. A master's degree takes generally two years to complete, but may be more or less depending on the student's specific needs.
In terms of costs, Chile's higher education system is not free. As an average, students can expect to pay about $5,000 per semester for a quality school and, for a public university, about $1,000. Transportation, room and board, and textbooks are additional. The school year here begins in September and runs through June or July of the following year. Generally, school is broken up into two semesters, but some schools offer additional programs during the winter months.
