The Peking University Guanghua School of Management’s International MBA is a 2-year, full-time MBA program taught in English designed for high potential professionals who aspire to become international business leaders.
The program provides a holistic general management education with an emphasis on the reality of doing business in China. A rigorous curriculum covering core business practices ensures students enhance their abilities as leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs; whilst specialist subjects taught by China’s leading academics provide in-depth understanding of China’s history, culture and exceptional economy.

The MBA is underpinned by the integration of humanities and business management teaching. Guanghua School of Management is the foremost institution in China for the provision of Chinese culture education. China specific courses include Chinese Cultural Traditions, Business and Management, Policy and Regulations, Business Networking and Eastern Philosophy. International students will also be provided with high-quality business Chinese language training, with the opportunity to undertake the HSK qualifications.

IMBA Student Profile
Each year, approximately 60 Chinese and international students join the IMBA at Guanghua. The 2012 cohort consists of 15 Chinese students and 47 international students from diverse countries such as Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Ukraine and the USA. All current IMBA candidates have extensive work experience in a variety of background careers such as multinational organisations, entrepreneurs, government agencies and NGOs.
Diversity is our aim, however all our IMBA students have some qualities in common: they persue excellence, have extensive experience, are determined in their careers, and have goals they intend to acomplish.
The IMBA offers students a unique international learning environment in the heart of Beijing. Students who so desire can broaden their international exposure by enjoying an exchange semester at one of Guanghua's 93 partner business schools worldwide.
Guanghua also offers a range of Double MBA Degree Programs, which allow students to study for one year in China and one year at a partner institution, allowing them to graduate with two Master's Degrees. Partner institutions include MIT, McCombs Texas, Michael G.Foster School of Business, National University of Singapore, ESSEC, WHU Germany, Schulich Canada, Seoul National University and Yonsei University Korea.
The Guanghua MBA program is taught through required core courses providing a well-balanced general management education, while elective courses allow students to tailor their MBA to their specific interests. The second year is structured to allow students to undertake internships or other professional projects alongside academic study.
All MBA students are invited to attend an optional pre-course prior to the start of the semester. The course provides refresher and introductory courses in a number of subjects such as statistics, accounting, microeconomics, presentation skills, PowerPoint, Excel and Chinese language to prepare new students for the semester ahead.
In the FIRST YEAR of the MBA, core courses will provide you with a well-balanced general management education in managerial economics, marketing management, corporate finance, strategic management, organizational behavior and operations management. You will be required to accrue 31 credits through core courses.
In the SECOND YEAR students are able to tailor their MBA to specific interests by selecting from over 30 different elective courses to attend, in areas such as strategy management, accounting, finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, human resource management and information management. The second year is structured to allow students to undertake internships or other professional projects alongside academic study.
Most electives take place in the third semester, allowing students to begin work employment alongside writing the thesis in the final semester.
Integrated Practicum Project
This required course is an experiential learning experience that provides students with an opportunity to undertake a real life consulting project for an external client.
Students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge to a real business problem, and have an insight into business in China. The ideal way to expand your professional network in China.
