Admissions Requirements – Alliant School of Management MBA
Admissions to the Online MBA at the Alliant School of Management takes place six times a year. We welcome applications from bachelor’s degree graduates who attended regionally-accredited U.S. universities or the international equivalent. If your undergraduate degree was in a discipline not related to business or management, you may be required to take additional foundation courses before beginning your MBA program.
We do not require applicants to take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) before applying to the School of Management, although we will consider scores if you have taken the test. Candidates who do not submit a GMAT score will need to undertake an interview with our admissions staff. In addition, applicants with a cumulative undergraduate GPA below 2.75 are likely to require departmental approval for acceptance.
Requirements and Application Materials
Degree: A four-year baccalaureate degree or equivalent from an accredited university. We require a minimum GPA of 2.75. Students with lower GPAs may be considered individually, based on their work experience, professional certifications, etc.
Essay: A personal statement, based around the following topics (do not exceed more than 250 words per topic):
- Describe one of your professional accomplishments and how it impacted the company you work for;
- Describe a challenging professional situation, how you handled it and what you wish you would have done differently;
- What are your post-graduate school objectives? How will a graduate degree assist you in achieving these goals?
Resume: Current resume.
English Language Proficiency (International Students Only): English language proficiency must be demonstrated by applicants not previously educated in English. Minimum TOEFL score of 550 paper/213 computer/80 internet or equivalent.
After all documentation is reviewed, the MBA program director will consider your application for acceptance. Decisions by the program director are final.
