Practical Oriented Business Education
The quality of the ESSEC & MANNHEIM faculty ensures modern and high-quality EMBA courses which match the needs of today’s executives qualifying as tomorrow’s business leaders.
The Academic Directors believe that this can only be achieved if instructors have the liberty to choose as experts from their wide experience and knowledge. The curriculum therefore gives a framework of which courses are needed to assure complete management know-how. All important aspects of modern business are covered. Each instructor develops his own style thereby contributing to the variety of the fields that are covered.
Fundamentals of Management -- Perspectives and Foundation Skills
The courses provide an integrated understanding of today's global and competitive business challenges, of business as a system, of quality management and of intellectual and interpersonal skills required of a future business leader. Participants will acquire needed quantitative and analytical skills, develop an understanding of the financial, legal, and economic environment and examine issues of managerial ethics and responsibilities.
Managing Functions in Business Life
Field Two provides you with the knowledge about various business disciplines touching your day-to-day business life. ESSEC & MANNHEIM offers in-depth knowledge of business disciplines and the successful application of skills by building on integrated foundation coursework. It provides more in-depth knowledge and applied skills related to finance, management, and marketing.
Understanding Environment and Establishing Policy
Courses and residencies offering a European perspective on business are the core of the ESSEC & MANNHEIM approach. Establishing policy is only possible if the manager knows the companies environment and respective strategies to implement the elaborated solutions. European executives particularly need to know about the global business in a European context.
Therefore we focus, as a central theme, on how to interpret and understand the European issues and context. We integrate this throughout the program in the form of case studies and conferences. Three residencies are, therefore, placed in Europe, each of them focusing on aspects of being successful in a European environment.
Leading Organizational Renewal
Developing participants' leadership skills by project-based learning
Show participants how to implement change in the company is the primary objective of Field 4, the core theme of which is driving organizational renewal. The integrative approach of the courses in Field 4 enables participants to draw on the functional and strategic skills acquired in the previous fields and to apply them to key cross-functional processes relevant in contemporary businesses. It encompasses a residency devoted to this topic as well as classical courses as “Organization and Change Strategy”.
The integration of theory and practice throughout the courses and conferences (with varying intensity) allows challenging insights into the implementation of learned aspects in real business life. This allows participants to integrate theory and practice in their companies and daily work. The course curriculum includes a mixture of lectures and projects. The project based learnings culminates in the final business project (“Entrepreneurial Project”) which requires application of cross-discipline knowledge in a team setting.
