EMBA in Aviation & Air Transport
As the aviation industry witnesses unprecedented growth, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has partnered with the International Air Transport Authority (IATA) to design an Executive MBA specifically for aviation professionals.
This is the first time that Geneva-based IATA has entered into an agreement with an Asian university to collaborate on the development and upgrading of human capital for the global aviation industry.
IATA represents some 230 airlines worldwide and accounts for 93 percent of international scheduled air traffic.
- Over 1,300 new airlines set up in the past 40 years (average of more than 30 each year)
- Estimated one million new jobs will be created in the next 20 years
- 10-fold expansion in travel volumes and 14-fold expansion in freight, compared with 3-4-fold growth of the world economy over the last four decades
This enormous growth will require trained and experienced airline managers. Keeping this enormous requirement in mind, NTU's Nanyang Business School and IATA have collaborated to launch an EMBA degree with a specialist aviation track to prepare future leaders for the industry.
Asia is the future of the air transport industry – it is the single largest market and will continue to drive the industry’s growth. The Nanyang-IATA EMBA is therefore strategically placed to take advantage of this growth with Singapore at the crossroads between the aviation giants of China and India.
The 15-month Executive MBA programme will allow IATA and NTU to take a leading role in developing the human capital needed to support and fulfil the region’s aviation growth.
